As the weather in Krasnoyarsk is slowly starting to show first signs of the summer, various outdoor activities begin to the joy of local residents. Different events held within the city river's embankments and parks already attract the attention of passersby, preparing the city for the upcoming blast that is the City Day.

On June 1, on the International Children's Day, the district holiday "Parade of Childhood" will be held for the first time in the park of the Kirovsky Palace of Culture. An impromptu stage will be set up on the square near the Palace of Culture. Hosts in costumes of fairy-tale characters will open the holiday and arrange a flash mob event. Dance teams of the district will also perform in the park.

At the celebration, guests will be offered a tasting of a large sweet pie and gingerbread, as well as a sale of fresh pastries, cotton candy, drinks and souvenirs. There will also be thematic activities from local cultural and educational institutions, as well as libraries of the Kirovsky district.

On June 1, ART-Bereg will start working on the Yenisei river's left-bank embankment of Krasnoyarsk, as well. ART-Bereg (ART-Embankment) is a large-scale summer project where every resident or guest of the city can not only chill and relax, but also realize their creative potential, which of course includes singing, dancing, reciting poetry etc.

This year, the opening of the project coincides with the celebration of Children's Day, so the programme will be dedicated to the topic of immersion in childhood. The guests of the event can expect master classes on making toys and growing plants, an asphalt drawing contest, a kite race, an art battle and many other locations.

On June 3, the MayPark opens the summer season in Krasnoyarsk. As per tradition, the opening will be held in the format of a mini-festival in the 1st of May Park.

This year, the organizers have prepared about 20 entertainment locations. Guests of the park will be able to try their hand at art workshops, meet local needleworkers at the crafts fair, look at the work of young photographers, and also take part in fun giveaways. In addition, there will be locations for fans of modern technologies where everyone can experience virtual reality headsets. The evening will end with a screening of the family film "The Diary of a First-Grader Mom." The movie tells about the life of a first-grader Vasya and his relationship with his parents.
