This Tuesday, May 16, the Krasnoyarsk Creativity Center No. 3 hosted the opening of an exhibition of children's art works as highlight of this year's International Charity Festival "Children for children". More than three hundred works presented at the exhibition were united by one theme: "Brighter Together".

The Festival initially started in 1996. The author of the idea was the music teacher of a Krasnoyarsk school, Honored Teacher of Russia Nikolai Bolsunovsky. Since 2014, it has become an international event. One of the first to respond to the invitation of the Festival organisers were children from the city of Zilina (Slovakia). Subsequently, kids from India, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Japan, the USA, Belarus took part in the project, but Chinese sister cities remain the most active participants in the Festival. For example, this year, some of the most prolific participants were school students from our sister city of Changchun, China.

However, the geography of the project is ever-expanding – for the first time ever, children from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea were able to take part in the Festival. The Society of Korean-Russian Friendship sent a total of 14 drawings which received the highest rating at the all-republican festival of pencil drawings.

Each work is akin to a key that opens a door to understanding the inner world of a child who expresses their emotions and experiences through creativity, builds her or his own world of fantasies and dreams. It's art exhibitions like this one where one can easily understand the words that have become the pedagogical motto of the Festival's creator: "To rise to the level of a child ..."

Some of the works presented can be found on the Festival's official page.
