The tree and shrubbery planting work is underway in all parts of the city. The first seedlings were planted during a citywide subbotnik (public spaces clean-up event). To date, 83 new trees and 11 shrubs have appeared in the city.

The tree and shrubbery species planted in a particular district are determined by experts. Landscapers have identified which trees and shrubs are best suited for different areas of the city, taking into account the characteristics of climate, soil, buildings and other factors. After the planting, specialists must monitor the result and, if necessary, take the necessary measures.

In total, about 1,300 trees and 4,700 shrubs are planned to be planted in Krasnoyarsk this year. The work will be carried out as part of the planned work on the maintenance of parks and squares and the improvement of public spaces. The preservation of green spaces that fall into the zone of construction and repair work is now a priority for the city upkeep.

— Krasnoyarsk is being actively built and new microdistricts need landscaping, which includes hedges, alleys, squares and parks within the territories. It is preferable that public spaces are interconnected by hedges. Well-thought-out landscaping also performs a protective function - it separates the roadway from pedestrian sidewalks, – said the regional coordinator of the Green Econ project Artyom Rechitsky.
