In the near future, an agreement will be signed between the Russian State Library and the Regional Scientific Library on cooperation and the creation of the said centre. For the new institution, the Library will receive special equipment, and the staff will be trained in a rare and complex qualification known as a "book restorer".

— Many rare editions were published with the prospect of long-term use: on very good paper, in leather bindings, with forged clasps. Unfortunately, however, no book can be safely kept in good physical condition for 200, 300 or 400 years. In order to preserve the cultural heritage of Russian libraries, this project was developed to create conservation and restoration centres, – said Tatyana Savelyeva, director of the State Universal Scientific Library of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

The collection of the regional library contains about 12 thousand publications, which are some of the most important cultural heritage of the country. Among them are unique book monuments and valuable documents reflecting the centuries-old knowledge, history, culture and traditions of Russian society. The creation of the centre will solve the issue of a systematic approach to the preservation and restoration of rare and valuable publications.
