The oldest forum of choral art in the Russian Federation has been taking place every spring since 1997.

The XXVII Krasnoyarsk Spring Choir Festival is dedicated to the Year of the teacher and mentor, the main theme of the event is "Choral mentoring in Siberia".

More than 20 choirs and ensembles will perform in the Festival, presenting a variety of works. The guests of the festival will be teams from Tolyatti, Novosibirsk and Abakan.

The opening concert "Choral Fellowship" will once again bring together several choirs on one stage at once - eleven choirs of the city will perform in the Small Concert Hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonia.

Moreover, this year, within the framework of the Festival, the 8th International Competition of Choir Conductors will be held among students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, as well as leaders of children's choirs. The competition was established on the initiative of the Choral Conducting Department of the Krasnoyarsk State Academy of Music and Theatre in 2000 and is held once every three years.

Over the years, the chairpersons of the Jury of the Competition were People's Artists of the Russian Federation E.V. Brazhnik, (Moscow), G.A. Dmitryak (Moscow), B.G. Tevlin (Moscow), E.B. Fertelmeister (Nizhny Novgorod); Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation S.S. Kalinin (Moscow); S. Weiler (Stuttgart, Germany). The Jury of the Сompetition included leading teachers of the Department of Choral Conducting of the Institute of Arts: professors K.A. Yakobson, L.V. Krayevaya, N.A. Shulpekov, as well as invited famous musicians: N.N. Azarov (Moscow), P. Brokhin (Germany), A. Veismanis (Latvia), Honored Art Worker of the Russian Federation A.I. Kiselev (Moscow), S. Krawczynski (Poland), J. Kratokvill (Czech Republic / USA), A.V. Solovyov (Moscow), Y.S. Rudkovsky (Kazakhstan) and others.
