Pupils of the Krasnoyarsk Ice Sports Centre will perform at the opening ceremony of the 2023 Russian Figure Skating Championship. The event will be taking place in Krasnoyarsk on December 22 to 25. The ceremony will be the largest in terms of the number of skaters.

— A beautiful light show awaits us. This will be the largest opening with the participation of figure skaters. A total of 78 athletes are involved in the production. I can't tell you the details, but I can assure you that we will surprise the audience, – said Denis Petrovsky, Minister of Sports of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

The details of the ceremony are still being kept in secret. The main topic of the event will be the skater themselves, and what qualities allow an athlete to achieve victory. In addition to figure skaters, the production involves acrobats, short track skaters and synchronized skaters.

— I feel a great responsibility. Not even a little worried about performing in front of star athletes and guests. On the contrary, I feel some kind of adrenaline, it's so cool, – said Krasnoyarsk figure skater Yaroslava Ivanova.

The director of the ceremony is a renowned ex-figure skater, star choreographer of ice shows Nikita Mikhailov. The capital specialist is the author of the anniversary show "Evgeny Plushenko-35 years on ice", the Cup of the Channel 1, as well as routines for figure skating stars.

— Nikita Mikhailov has already visited us in Krasnoyarsk before. He wrote a routine for the ceremony, focusing on what our athletes can do on the ice. The kids are very responsible in their preparing for the show. For them, this is a very good incentive and good motivation to reach new professional heights. All this is an honor for them, – says Tatyana Davletbaeva, coach at the Ice Sports Centre.

The Russian Figure Skating Championship starts on December 22 at the Platinum Arena.
