The Interregional Contest-Exhibition of Children's Art "Alaska-Siberia" starts in Krasnoyarsk. The project, dedicated to the feat of Soviet pilots during the Great Patriotic War, one of the series of events devoted to the 80th Anniversary of the ALSIB Air Route, is supported by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society. Schoolchildren between 12 and 18 are invited to take part.

The works of the winners of the Contest will be exhibited in Krasnoyarsk during the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Alaska - Siberia. 80th Anniversary of the Krasnoyarsk Air Route". The founder of the project is the Krasnoyarsk City Administration, the organizer is the municipal budgetary institution of additional education "Children's Art School No. 1 named after V.I. Surikov".

As part of the preparation for the Contest, Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren met with the head of the Trassa ("Air Route") search team, the head of the commission of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Branch of the Russian Geographical Society for the preservation of historical memory Alexander Matveev. He provided the young artists with detailed information about the air route along which planes were transported from the USA to the USSR, as well as about the heroic and tragic pages of its history.

The theme of the Contest is "Polar Aviation. Contribution to the Victory in the Great Patriotic War". The organizers of the project note, that in the history of the USSR, the USA and Canada there is an example of a common cause and successful cooperation for the sake of jointly fighting the plague of the 20th century - fascism. And the pilots who worked on the ALSIB Air Route, together with the pilots fighting at the front, brought closer the memorable day - May 9, 1945.

Students of children's art schools, art studios of palaces of culture, centers of children's creativity are invited to take part in the Contest.
The Contest-Exhibition is held in the following categories:
• painting (any technique: watercolor, gouache, tempera, acrylic);
• graphics (all types of unique and printed graphics, any technique: ink, pencil, etc.).

The works have to be submitted by October 25, 2022 in one of the following ways:
• in person, on weekdays, from 10 am to 5 pm (Children's Art School No. 1 named after V.I. Surikov, Lenina St., 79);
• by mail, to the organizer's address: 660049, Krasnoyarsk, Lenina St., 79, with a note: "For the Contest "Alaska - Siberia".
