For five days, the inhabitants of the Region will dive into the atmosphere of the "big", professional cinema. World and Russian premieres, celebrity guests, creative meetings, workshops and round tables are in store for everyone to participate in.

This year, a total of 1760 applications from 112 countries of the world were sent to the competition. Members of the selection committee, which included professional filmmakers selected 116 best directors from 36 countries. These movies, 27 of which were exclusive premieres, eventually made up the extensive short list of competitive and out-of-competition programmes for us to watch.

Many full-length films will be presented to the audience by their creators personally. The festival will be visited by guests from the Republic of Belarus, Greece, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and, of course, different regions of Russia - these are directors and actors, screenwriters and producers, supervisors and critics. Among them are the famous young artists Vitaly Kornienko ("Ice 2", "Vampires of the Middle Band") and Oleg Chugunov ("Major Grom: The Plague Doctor", "Outpost"), actor and director Anton Bogdanov ("Fire", "Christmas Trees") , as well as the creators of the "Smeshariki" cartoon project and the super-successful animation hit "Finnik" Denis Chernov and Tatyana Belova. All of them will not only talk about their film works before the screenings, but also set to hold creative meetings and workshops.

— The "Geroy" International Film Festival for Kids and Youth is becoming one of the hallmarks of the Krasnoyarsk Region. This year, it managed to attract the attention of filmmakers from more than 100 countries, which means that the Region is reaching a new level of fame not only in the country, but also in the world. Moreover, the professional film festival for the younger generation allows us to solve many problems, the most important of which is the revival of the traditions of children's cinema as a phenomenon. At the moment, a huge multi-stage work has been carried out to prepare this event, the arrival of well-known guests is planned; all in all, and we are pleased to invite everyone to take part, - said Arkady Zinov, Minister of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Region.

A total of eight awards will be drawn during the screenings. They will go to the creators of the best feature and short films, live-action films, animations and documentaries. A special nomination "Who is your Hero?" desesrves particular attention as well, since it presents movies by filmmakers under the age of 18. It is especially significant that among the submitted works there are three from the Krasnoyarsk Region, including the participants of the intensive training programme "Film Your Movie", which took place in November of 2021 during the Geroy: Special Programme event.
