An international transport and logistics and production hub may appear on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk and Cheremshanka airports. The project of the hub foundation was discussed in the regional government.

According to the reports, the hub is to improve the ground infrastructure of airports, the runway and the cargo-passenger railway line from Krasnoyarsk. Thanks to the hub, the project area can receive the status of a special economic zone.

«The creation of a special economic zone on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk airport looks extremely interesting to us. Indeed, such projects have enormous potential and are powerful drivers for the development of the surrounding territories economy. Various services and production are always formed around the air transportation, which leads to the creation of new jobs and an increase in tax deductions to the budget,» — noted Alexander Uss.

The project planning is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020. The airport capacity should grow about 2.5 times.
