​The best freestyle wrestlers from around the world will once again gather in the capital of Krasnoyarsk Region in early 2020. The prestigious international tournament «Ivan Yarygin» will take place for the 31st time.

From January 23 to 26, foreign guests and Russian athletes alike will be competing for medals at the Ivan Yarygin Sports Palace.

The next year is going to be very special for the summer sport, since the Olympic Games, the programme of which includes wrestling, will be held in Tokyo July 24 to August 9. So the Yarygin tournament is set to be the first test of strength for the leading fighters of the world on the eve of the main start of the four-year period.

This tournament has become the hallmark of not only the region, but the whole of Russia, too, over the years. Since 2018, every competition has been score-based, as participants receive points depending on the place they earned in the tournament. Score points are taken into account during the draw for the participants of the World Championship.
