According to some statements, Sverdlovskiy district is considered to be “Krasnoyarsk South Gate”, “the youngest district of the right bank”, “one of the major industrial knots of the city”. And it is home place for more than 140 thousand citizens of Krasnoyarsk.
Sverdlovskiy district was formed on March 23, 1977 and originally was part of Kirovskiy district. It covers an area of 6300 hectares. Its length from west to east is 19 kilometers and from north to south is 3.8 kilometers.
One of the distinguishing features of the Sverdlovskiy district is a diversified, actively developing economy. There are more than 40 major companies in the district, including CJSC "Kultbytstroy», LLC "Krasnoyarskiy Cement", LLC "Combinat “Volna", Mostotryad №7, CHP-2, CJSC " Siberian Glass Company”.
An official ceremony of the fourth bridge over Enisey laying took place on October 27, 2011. It will give a new start to the city economic development. Six-lane Bridge will be built by 2016. It will be located parallel to the existing railway bridge and will greatly relieve the center of Krasnoyarsk.

Authorities of the city and the district pay great attention to the disabled people and veterans of the Great Patriotic War. During the last two years, within the regional program "Additional measures of social support for veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" residents of the district have already got more than 55 million rubles, 50 veterans have received keys to new apartments.
More than 18,000 families which bring up 24,000 children live in Sverdlovskiy district. There were born more than 1,600 children in 2011 and the millionth resident of the city of Krasnoyarsk was born exactly in Sverdlovskiy district.
