Society of Aichi for developing friendship and closer relations between Japan and Russia (Aichi Prefecture, Japan)

Society of Aichi for developing friendship and closer relations between Japan and Russia – is one of the largest non-governmental organizations in Japan – a regional subdivision of the “Japan-Russia” society, based in 1922, as a successor of “Japan-USSR” society, existing from 1965.

The members of based in 2000 “Aichi Society” are the deputies of Japanese Parliament, legislative assemblies of Aichi prefecture and its localities, chancellors and professorship of prefecture’s universities, heads of regional mass media, big public figures, art workers and business representatives (in total more than 100 persons).

The “Aichi Society” activity is directed to the strengthening of relations between Russia and Japan in regional level. It includes the carrying of different events, which aim is to increase an interest of prefecture’s population (especially its administrative centre Nagoya) to Russia and Krasnoyarsk region. For example, there are open lectures, exhibitions, concerts, educational events for schools and etc.
