"This exhibition is very important for the younger generation! This way the youth will be able to get acquainted with the history of our region and country. Few people used to know about this route, its existence was not openly spoken about even after the war. We have a living witness of this route in the Veterans Council," said Galina Mramorova, deputy chairman of the Veterans Council of the district.

For the reference:

This year, the 75th anniversary of the Alaska-Siberia air route is celebrated. From 1942 to 1945, in extreme climatic conditions, along a largely unknown route, our pilots flew American planes from Fairbanks (Alaska, USA) through Kamchatka and Eastern Siberia to Krasnoyarsk. The distance is more than six thousand kilometers. In little less than three war years, over eight thousand aircraft of various types: bombers, fighters, transporters were delivered. This was a significant aid from the allies, which the Soviet Union really needed at that time.
