The delegation from the warm southern city of Gelendzhik stay in Krasnoyarsk until January 25. Vice Head of the Department of Culture, Art and Cinematography of the Gelendzhik City Administration Evgeny Skripka and Director of the Gelendzhik Museum of History and Local Lore Natalya Gadzyuk have already visited the Ploschad Mira Museum Centre, Krasnoyarsk City Palace of Culture, one of the modernized city libraries and our Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The delegation also participated in the final events of the XVIII Winter Surikov Art Festival. They visited the art event "Krasnoyarsk Draws Surikov" with the participation of the Krasnoyarsk Brass Band and watched the performance of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Choir at the Zlobino railway station.

— We are very impressed by the artistic skills of the Krasnoyarsk Brass Band and their musical arrangements. The concert at the station turned out to be a stunningly surprising discovery for us. Some of the spectators said that they came to the station specifically for the performances. After visiting the museum, as the director of an institution of the same profile, I saw several techniques that can be used in my work, – Natalya Gadzyuk shared.

The guests also tried dishes from the "Two Geniuses" special menu that was developed by one of the city's restaurants for the Festival, and laid flowers at the monument to Vasily Surikov in the artist's Museum-Estate.

Gelendzhik's representatives will also attend the closing concert of the Festival. Musicians will perform 12 Transcendental études by Franz Liszt, a contemporary of Vasily Surikov, as the pieces have never been performed in Krasnoyarsk before.

— Such visits allow us to exchange experience gained by our cities in solving various challenges and in preparing and implementing large projects. We can compare the activities of our Department and our colleagues' and discuss cooperation, – said Lyubov Sakharova, Head of the Department of Culture.

Recently, in November 2023, Gelendzhik welcomed a delegation from Krasnoyarsk. The cultural sector in Gelendzhik is represented by a network of sixteen cultural institutions, three children's art schools, 18 libraries and one museum. Among the city's branded cultural events: a carnival dedicated to the opening of the holiday season, the opening of the velvet season and local City Day.
