​From August 1, the Russian House of Science and Culture in Paris (Russian House) invites the visitors of its website to get acquainted with a unique virtual exhibition, based on the materials of the exhibition “Siberia-France. The history of relations." of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

The official opening of the offline exhibition “Siberia-France. The history of relations." within the framework of the Cross Year of interregional cooperation between Russia and France took place in April 2021 at the Museum-Estate of the bibliophile, hereditary honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk, merchant Gennady Yudin. The ceremony was broadcast on the website of the Russian House in Paris. 

Alexey Meshkov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to France, made a special video address to the guests of the exhibition. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin, Consul General of France in Yekaterinburg Pierre-Alain Coffinier, Director of the Russian House of Science and Culture in Paris Konstantin Volkov (online) and other official representatives.

The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the history of relations between France and the Yenisei province (later  - the Krasnoyarsk Region), tell the stories of the French, who linked their lives with Siberia, and the life of Siberians, who glorified the Russian region in France.

The exhibition demonstrates the role of France in education and cultural formation of Siberia and reflects on the prospects for the development of cooperation between Krasnoyarsk and the regions of France.

The exposition presents objects and documents from the Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the Museum-Estate of V.I.Surikov and the private collection of N.V. Safonova, as well as antiques from local antique stores.

In addition, the exhibition offers elements of theatrical presentation of its exhibits, various media content and quizes for the visitors.
