Opening the meeting, Mayor expressed his gratitude to the Slovak people for carefully preserving the memory of the Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Czechoslovakia from Nazi invaders in 1945. Sergei Eremin also mentioned the five Red Army soldiers from the Krasnoyarsk Region that are now buried at the Memorial of Russian Soldiers in Zilina.

«We are thankful to the leadership of the city of Zilina and personally to the Mayor Peter Fiabane for the fact that the monuments and burials of Soviet soldiers are always in a well-cared-for condition. This is a manifestation of great respect for our people,» – the Mayor emphasised..

Sergei Eremin expressed confidence that the prospects for cooperation between Krasnoyarsk and Zhilina have yet to be exhausted.

— We will continue to strive to develop cultural and humanitarian cooperation, share and adopt best practices in the development of public spaces and the development of the city in general. We will be glad to see participants and guests from Slovakia at the Krasnoyarsk City Forum and the International Forum of Parks.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia to Russia Lubomir Regak admitted he expected to see a more industrial city arriving here, but in fact witnessed a living, flourishing, multifaceted cultured metropolis, where a lot is being done to improve the local environment.

— I am very grateful for the warm welcome the city offered me on my first working visit to the Krasnoyarsk Region. The experience of cooperation between the twin cities of Krasnoyarsk and Zilina is quite impressive. On the part of the embassy, we are ready to assist in the development of further relations between our countries and peoples.
