The fate of the improvement of Predmostnaya Square was to be determined by a competition among teams of specialists from Russia and around the world. In total, five teams entered the final stage of the competition, three of which were from Krasnoyarsk. According to the results, the winner was the team of Italian architects MARAZZI ARCHITETTI + F & M ingegneria S.p.A.

The architects were to make rough designs taking into account the current layout and site development. It was also necessary to bear in mind the current plans of building a choreographic college and a Pozdeev Centre for creative industries on the Square.

These are the winner designs:

The jury noted that the Italians correctly understand the connection between the roundabout and the pedestrian space. Their concept offers an eco-hub with a carriageway and tramway separation. New buildings do not clash with the already established architecture, but dominate the appearance of the square. The winners will receive an award of 700 thousand rubles. For the improvement, they will need to develop documentation and determine the timing.
