​​For the first time the three blocks of Mira Avenue became pedestrianized during the weekend.

On Friday evening, the guests of the project were able to appreciate how great it is to walk along the main street of the city without cars. Among the first, despite the initially bad weather, was Mayor Sergei Eremin.

— They say that rain on the road is a good omen. I believe that this project has a nice and exciting path ahead! At the very start, it became clear that no matter how carefully we prepared and planned, we would have to improvise on the go anyway. Our "Centre of the World" is lively, mobile - and this is its special charm. I hope that Krasnoyarsk residents will become the main producers of this weekend pedestrian-promenade space, and together we will create our own street culture.

On the first day of the project launch, the rain certainly adjusted the event schedule, but as soon as the sun came out, Mira Avenue was immediately filled with people. Young artists were located right on the roadway, a master class in drawing took place.

One of the most popular sites was the green lawn opposite the Detskiy Mir shop. Children took a fancy to it – isn't it nice to run and lie on the grass?

A house party-style guitar concert took place in the Pushkina Garden. First the musicians, and then just random passers-by sang their favorite songs. In the evening, Krasnoyarsk residents continued to walk, drink coffee and take beautiful atmospheric photos.

All the planned locations started working on Sunday, so that Krasnoyarsk residents could fully appreciate the atmosphere of the project. At noon, one of the balconies lit up with saxophone sounds. Pedestrians stopped, listened, and someone even danced. A chess tournament was held in front of the Pushkin Garden.

The pedestrians were also encouraged by the costumed stilt-walkers.

Open training in kyokushin karate took place on the green lawn in the morning. In the evening, many spectators gathered around the lawn as a dance workshop was hosted there. The real delight of children was caused by a giant twister located right on the roadway.

One of the most popular locations on Sunday was the board game area.

Near the monument to Pozdeev there were literary readings, master classes. In the evening a concert of the Krasnoyarsk brass band took place, performing melodies of different styles and genres.

The project In the Centre of Mira will continue next weekend. The organizers follow the feedback and suggestions of Krasnoyarsk residents and will use them to improve the project. For instance, the townspeople have already expressed the opinion that it is necessary to restrict the access for cyclists and those who move on scooters to the "centre of the world".​
