The exhibition project dedicated to the history of connections between the Siberians and the French opened in the Krasnoyarsk Museum-Estate of G.V. Yudin. As the main organisers of the project, the employees of the Krasnoyarsk Museum of Local Lore set out to rediscover the brightest pages of the cultural dialogue between France and the Yenisei Governorate, later the Krasnoyarsk Region, through the fates of those Europeans who linked their lives with Siberia, and on the examples of Siberians who glorified our region beyond its borders.

In his welcoming speech, the Consul General of France in Yekaterinburg noted that the implemented project fully encapsulates the friendship between the peoples of Russia and France:

— It is quite obvious that there have always been mutual appeal and interest between the French and the Russians; in the nobility of Russia it was considered good form to know French, and in turn French writers, artists and musicians were impressed by Russian culture. Thanks to the organised exhibition, each of us will be able to better know the history of relations between Siberia and France.

The Mayor Sergei Eremin, in his response, thanked the Consul General for his visit to Krasnoyarsk and participation in such significant cultural event:

— Technological progress allows a resident of any part of the planet to learn any information about Siberia, but one can only truly understand and love our beautiful and harsh land only by visiting here. I sincerely thank everyone who helped this project go from a bold idea to the real deal.
