According to the deputy chairman of the regional government Sergei Vereshchagin, more than 8 thousand experts and guests took part in the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum-2021, with another 7 thousand spectating the live broadcasts of the event.

«Economy and Pandemic: Russian Perspective» was the overall theme of KEF-2021. The forum was held from April 12 to 16 at Siberian Federal University, as well as in studios in Moscow, Singapore and Berlin. More than 100 events of business, educational and youth programmes took place within the framework of the KEF in both online and offline formats. More than 400 leading Russian and international experts took part in the discussions: the current agenda was thoroughly discussed by representatives of Russian businesses, government authorities, entrepreneur and academic circles and young specialists from the regions.

«Discussions held at the forum sites were primarily on overcoming the consequences of the crisis in various areas – support of human capital assets, the introduction of digitalisation and new technologies, the prospects for alternative energy sources, a responsible environmental and social approach to the implementation of investment projects. We have yet to analyze the results of the platforms and expert decisions, but now we can say that industry experts call the reorientation of production, management and administrative processes towards increased social and environmental responsibility as a key tool for overcoming the crisis. A person should be at the forefront of all transformations,» — said Sergei Vereshchagin.

Thanks to the online format, the coverage of the forum was preserved. Representatives of more than 30 countries joined the work of the KEF: Korea, Germany, China, Japan, Italy, Finland, USA, France and others. In total, the forum was attended by over 100 foreigners, most of whom were experts of the business programme. Among them were representatives of more than 40 large business and public organisations: for example, the Association of European Businesses, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Korean-Russian Business Council, the Japanese Business Club, the World Wildlife Fund, the Austrian Federal Chamber of Economics, the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, New York University, European Business Association. One of the world's most famous economists, Nouriel Roubini, also took part in the forum.

According to Sergei Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisey Siberia Corporation, discussions under the KEF brand will continue this year. They will be held at the main regional platforms, as well as in other regions.

«It is important for the forum to move from the format of an event to the format of a process, more of a constant discussion on key development issues. Until the end of the year, we plan to host at least five events with the involvement of Russian experts»

Evgeny Gavrilov, Chairman of the Youth Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region, noted the productive work of the KEF Youth Platform «Generation-2030». Within the framework of just two days, its participants presented relevant project proposals on Digital Business, Digital Education and Digital City topics. The final decisions will be formalised in a resolution, and young specialists will receive support in the implementation of projects.

More than 20 agreements worth over 53.5 billion rubles were signed at the forum. Among them are an agreement on the creation of infrastructure for the extraction and processing of gold at the Veduginskoye deposit, agreements on the creation of a tourist cluster on the Putorana plateau and agreements on the organisation of roadside service, a network of eco-hotels, production of building materials, meat processing complexes.
