«Local authorities make a significant contribution to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in their daily activities. According to UCLG estimates, 65% of the SDGs cannot be implemented without the participation of local authorities.»

«The 2030 Agenda is a blueprint for people, planet and prosperity. It highlights that the elimination of poverty in all its forms and manifestations is the most important global task and one of the most necessary conditions for sustainable development,» — said the coordinator of UCLG-Eurasia projects Tansylu Nurieva. During the presentation, the main principles of the SDGs were also announced. All of the goals are universal, have integrative nature, and take into account the interests of people.

According to an online survey conducted among the participants of the seminar, most of them are familiar with the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants were able to select the SDGs with the highest priority for their cities. The highest percentage was scored by SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
