​​Krasnoyarsk athletes enter the Russian national snowboard cross team

The coaching staff of the Russian national snowboard cross team just announced the list of athletes to take part in the World Championships. The team included three representatives of the Krasnoyarsk Region: Alexander Atylin, Vadim Tuev and Nadezhda Pleshakova.

«Among our athletes are winners and laureates of the all-Russian competitions and championships, as well as leaders of the national Cup, – said the coach of the team Denis Lamparter. – For some, this will be their first international competition of this level, whereas others have already experienced such excitement. It's great the Championships will be taking place here in Siberia, at the facilities where the Universiade was held two years ago. Always nice to compete at home.»


Anton Endzhievsky gets bronze of the tenth stage of the Russian Alpine Skiing Cup

Krasnoyarsk athlete Anton Endzhievsky took third place in slalom during the tenth stage of the Russian Alpine Skiing Cup taking place in the Bobrovy Log Park, losing to Artyom Kashintsev (Sakhalin Region) and Gleb Mosesov (Krasnodar Regoin). A day earlier, Endzhievsky took silver at the Viktor Tsimik Memorial.

Sofia Matveeva (Sakhalin Region) won the women's competition again, getting ahead of her teammate Sofia Krokhina. Third place went to Ekaterina Popova from the Kamchatka Region. Krasnoyarsk athlete Taisiya Polyntseva and Veronika Gribenko ranked 17th and 18th respectively.


Lyubov Nikitina wins bronze AND gold during the Freestyle World Ski Championships

Lyubov Nikitina won a bronze medal at the World Ski Championships in the solo aerials discipline. The athlete of the Krasnoyarsk AZVS lost only to the Australian Laura Peel and the American Ashley Caldwell in the superfinal.

«Lyuba did her jump very well, but she was outstripped by her very strong competitors who did triple jumps, – explained Alexei Kurashov, President of the Russian Freestyle Federation. – Of course, we are absolutely thrilled with Lyubov's result, she became the bronze medalist of the World Championships, after all.»​

​After that, Nikitina earned her first gold along with Maxim Burov and Pavel Krotov in the team aerial competition. According to her, this is just the beginning – there is also the World Cup in the near future to conquer, after all!​
