20.10.2025Select group of children from the Krasnoyarsk Lyceum no.1 were sent in Changchun, China to participate in an educational camp organised by the Changchun Foreign Languages School. The trip is a return visit within the framework of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Education signed between MAOU Lyceum No. 1 and Changchun Foreign Languages School.
Lyceum students will join the School's daily classes and enjoy the cultural and linguistic environment through museum tours, participation in sports competitions, and intellectual games and quizzes.
Such educational module has already been successfully implemented at Lyceum No. 1 this year. In June, children from the Changchun Foreign Languages School spent two weeks in Krasnoyarsk studying Russian and learning about our country's traditions.
The choice of implementing joint educational programme at these two institutions is no coincidence. The Lyceum implements a multilingual education model, where instruction is provided in more than just one language, whereas the Changchun Foreign Languages School is considered one of the most prestigious eeducation stablishments in the country, whose graduates are routinely recommended to leading colleges and universities in China.
Elena Kuksenko, Principal of Lyceum No. 1:
— It is a great honor for us to finally visit the Changchun School. Such educational exchanges are the foundation for developing mutual understanding and are a significant tool for broadening the children's horizons. The students not only learn about each other's cultures by living side by side with Changchun students, attending classes, and interacting outside the classroom — they build strong bridges of friendships that last.
An education agreement between the schools was signed in 2024. This partnership allows for student and teacher exchange programs, joint online lessons with the Chinese side, and the maintenance of long-term scientific and educational ties.
Deputy Head of Mayor's Department - Head of the International Affairs Division Inna Dozortseva:
— The Russian and Chinese parties both steadily develop cooperation in education, strengthen the friendly relations between our cities, which have actually been sister cities for over ten years. This educational programme in Changchun offers a unique practical and knowledge-sharing experience for Krasnoyarsk students, improving their language skills and consolidating their existing knowledge gained at the Lyceum. Such visits provide a new impetus for the development of our international inter-municipal cooperation.
The cooperation of Krasnoyarsk with Changchun has been developing since 2010, when an Agreement on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was signed between the Krasnoyarsk City Administration and the People's Government of Changchun (Jilin Province, China). In 2014, an Agreement establishing sister-city relations between the cities was signed.
Lyceum No. 1 and the Changchun Foreign Languages School actively develop bilateral cooperation not only through classes but also through joint social and art projects, including the International Charity Art Festival "Children to Children," the International Children's Chess Festival "Russia-Europe-Asia," and the All-Russian Literary Competition with International Participation "Arctic Star – Umka."
