​​​​​Krasnoyarsk has once again become the host of the Hvorostovsky Arts Festival, dedicated to the memory of opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky (1962-2017) from October 16 to November 5.

The Festival will be opened by Ildar Abdrazakov, Honored Artist of Russia and close friend of Dmitri Hvorostovsky. On the stage of the Big Concert Hall, he will take on a new role as a conductor. Under his direction, the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra, together with the Moscow State Academic Chamber Choir and the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Choir, will perform Gioachino Rossini's Stabat Mater.

This year's Festival programme includes eight concerts and performances featuring artists from Russia, Italy, France, Belarus, Uruguay, Mexico, and South Korea. We can expect to see some of the most prolific artists of the classical stage, such as Ambrogio Maestri, Erwin Schrott, Ramón Vargas, Vasily Ladyuk, Sumi Jo.

Among other events dedicated to Dmitri Hvorostovky are the exhibition "Siberian Legend. Hvorostovsky" and an educational workshop for vocal students of the Siberian State Institute of Arts. This year, the organisers decided to introduce a regional concert schedule: concerts will be held not only in Krasnoyarsk, but also in Norilsk, Achinsk, Kansk, Zelenogorsk, and Minusinsk.

The audience can expect a colorful variety of concerts, theatre events, exhibitions, workshops, etc. The Festival is organised by the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic Society, the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Krasnoyarsk Art Museum, and the Siberian State Institute of Arts, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Region.
