On the eve of the new school year, the August pedagogical conference is traditionally held in Krasnoyarsk. This year it takes place in a new format - a strategic session. The participants are faced with the task of determining strategic objectives in the development of the Krasnoyarsk standard of education.

Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin, Chairman of Krasnoyarsk City Council Natalia Firyulina, Head of Main Department of Education Tatyana Sitdikova, the principals of Krasnoyarsk schools and institutions of further education took part in the strategy session.

The expert of the session was the leading Russian expert in the field of education, a member of the Public Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Scientific Director of the Institute of Educational Policy Problems "Eureka" Alexander Adamsky.

Alexander Adamsky noted that the “dropping out” of children from school and the emphasis on gifted children only are all-Russian problems in the industry. The expert believes that it is unacceptable to pay attention exclusively to gifted children. It is necessary to teach everyone so that each child can show their success in some special sphere. Quality mass education is a guarantee of security.

Pupils need to be given the opportunity to develop here and now, so that they can find their vocation according to their own needs and abilities. In this sense, besides school, a key role is played by the urban environment. The combination of educational and urban processes is the challenge that we need to discuss today.

The opinion of the leading expert coincided with the position of Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin, who noted that the upbringing and education of children in a harmonious urban environment is the main trend of modern city policy. Every child must have a chance to find themselves in urban space.

We must give our children an opportunity, regardless of their psychological, individual characteristics, upbringing, home environment, to realize themselves in our city’s urban space. Our children must be drivers of urban change. This should be emphasized in the educational process. It is also important to project the future of Krasnoyarsk, based on the view of today's children.

In addition to the strategic session, the format of the August educational events includes drafting a roadmap, as well as business games for the directors of educational institutions. The final resolution will reflect the decisions taken in four areas of the Krasnoyarsk education development: achieving educational results, personnel policy, infrastructure support, and educational partnership.
