​Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin held a working meeting with Mme Sylvie Bermann, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation.

The delegation led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Russia Mme Bermann arrived in Krasnoyarsk for the first time. The purpose of the visit is to get acquainted with achievements in the field of space technologies, discuss possible cooperation projects in economics, medicine and also participate in the XII Krasnoyarsk Book Fair, which took place in the regional capital the day before.

"I heard a lot of positive reviews about the Book Fair  held in Krasnoyarsk. It also involves many French publishers and writers. We appreciate the opportunity to share our culture and, of course, we are ready to develop cultural ties with your city, as well as partnership in other areas", - Mme Silvi-Anes Bermann addressed the Head of the city Sergei Eremin.

Let us note, that there are several projects in the field of culture between Krasnoyarsk and France. So, in July of this year, the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra performed with great success in Paris. In early November, the first International Violinists Competition "Inter Cordes" took place in the capital of France, where young violinists from Krasnoyarsk Children's Art School No. 8 participated. The guys showed the brilliant results: in the "Solo performance" nomination the first place was awarded to the talented violinist Daria Manza, in the nomination "Ensemble" first place was taken by the exemplary ensemble of violinists from Krasnoyarsk "Consonance". Chief Conductor of the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, the Honored Artiste of Russia, Professor Michael Benyumov was invited to the jury. the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin used the opportunity and suggested to consider the possibility of participation of French teams in the International festival of chamber-orchestral music «Asia — Siberia — Europe»

Business ties were also established in  sphere of architecture between Krasnoyarsk and France. During the meeting, Mme Silvi-Anes Bermann and Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin discussed joint projects in the field of urban planning. In particular, projects related to the formation of points of attraction for the development of ecotourism, hotel business, renovation of depressed industrial areas.

"This year we started to introduce new standards of improvement. Its result should be a qualitatively new attitude to the city. Therefore, we are interested in the experience of the world community, including France, in the development of urban space", Mayor Sergei Eremin noted.
