The team from the Krasnoyarsk Park of Flora and Fauna "Roev Ruchey"  became the winner of the Novosibirsk Oblast Championship in riding sport "Towards the Snow - 2018". Krasnoyarsk was represented by Vyacheslav Barkalov and Andrey Makhrov with a team of Siberian Huskies named Hun, Pole of Cold, Dara and Guiding Star.

More than 120 athletes and two hundred dogs from different cities of the country gathered in the city of Berdsk: Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Biysk and Barnaul. Among the dogs were Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Greenland dogs, sleddies, ridgebacks, Yakut huskies and others.

Krasnoyarsk team of four dogs overcame 5 kilometers in 11 minutes and 41 seconds, confidently taking the first place.

As the representative of “Roev Ruchey” Oleg Chipura said, a team of park employees has been participating in regional competitions for two years and has already taken prizes. They have not yet reached the All-Russian level because  it’s expensive to go to the capital as the team is financed with the participants own funds.

-There are many disciplines: an athlete with a dog, an athlete with a team of two or more dogs. You can ride a sleigh, on skis, in the summer dogs can pull a bicycle or “cards” - a wheel sledge”, - Oleg  Chipura said.

All in all, “Roev Ruchey” has ten participating dogs - six huskies and four Samoyeds.
