​The First International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition was completed in Krasnoyarsk on October 1, 2018.

The jury identified the best musicians. The most titled and experienced participant Sergey Dogadin become the winner and the owner of the main prize of the competition, where the strongest young violinists of the world from 16 to 32 years old   competed. He presented Russia.

Sergey Dogadin subjugated with his skills, impeccability of performance and the depth of reading the classical works. The violinist received a reward of  15  thousand dollars and the opportunity to perform with the best orchestras and conductors of the planet.

The second place was shared between Chisa Kitagawa (Japan) and Runyin Zhang (China). Third place and a special award named after Julian Sitkovetsky were given to the violinist from China - Shucong He. The special prize  of the chairman of the jury, People's Artist of the USSR Viktor Tretyakov - the bow made by a French master Louis Morisot  was  presented to the laureate of the competition Leonid Zhelezny (Russia).

Krasnoyarsk residents have a special reason for pride. Two violinists who received the basics of musial education in Krasnoyarsk took part in the competition of the highest rank - Alina Kuroyedova and Rimma Benyumova. Rimma Benyumova became the winner of the competition. She was awarded  with the special Mayor  prize.

The Mayor of the city personally congratulated the musician during the award ceremony and also addressed the maestro with words of gratitude: «Our city has not yet recovered after the performance of world masters at the XVII International Festival of Chamber-Orchestral music «Asia — Siberia — Europe», as the Krasnoyarsk scene again gathered the best young musicians from around the world and the most authoritative jury. Viktor Viktorovich, we are proud to host such a legendary musician! Krasnoyarsk is rightfully reaching the level of the cultural capitals of the world».

The First International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition was held from September 23 to October 1, 2018.The competition on this scale was held in the Krasnoyarsk region for the first time. The venue was chosen purposefully as Krasnoyarsk is the birthplace of Maestro Viktor Tretyakov. The musician was chairman on the jury panel. The outstanding violinists of our times were on the jury panel as well. Most of them are members of the jury of the International Tchaikovsky Competition and representatives of the reputable foreign music universities.
All the performances were open to the public. The finalists of the Competition performed with the Krasnoyarsk Academic Symphony Orchestra and the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra who are the leading creative teams of the Siberian Federal District.
