Krasnoyarsk citizens will hear the ancient Japan musical instrument  -   Shamisen (三味線).

XVII International festival of chamber-orchestral music «Asia — Siberia — Europe» will be held from 7 to 22 September, 2018. This year famous worldwide performers  from Japan, Poland and Portugal will play music in the Maly Philharmonic Hall, Great Hall of the Arts Institute and Organ Hall.

The high-ranked Krasnoyarsk Forum of the classics will present three outstanding Japanese musicians: Yoichi Sugiyama, a composer and conductor, Aki Kuroda, a pianist, and a famous worldwide performer and propagandist of the ancient Japanese instrument Shamisen Hidejiro Honjoh, whose participation has been supported by «The Japan Foundation».

At the Opening of the Festival for the Krasnoyarsk public there is not only the acquaintance with new exotic instrument, but also the world premiere of a composition for Shamisen and String Orchestra «Steps» dedicated to the cross-Year of Japan and Russia.

The Festival will be finished by legendary Eliso Virsaladze together with conductor, participant of program "Young talents of Krasnoyarsk"  and our countrywoman Maria Benyumova.

This time the Guest Orchestra is a big-name Polish orchestra the Baltic Neopolis Virtuosi, which brought together talented musicians of the Baltic Sea region. For participation in the Festival the orchestra has received a grant of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Poland.

Let us note, that the festival is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin.
