Participants of the project "International Youth Ecological Exchange: Russia-Germany" organized by Siberian Federal University arrived in Krasnoyarsk. German students visited Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant of «United Company RUSAL Limited» and got acquainted with the production of aluminum.

Krasnoyarsk metallurgists told the European guests about the work of Krasnoyarsk aluminum plant and conducted an excursion around the large-scale production. Krasnoyarsk metallurgists told young ecologists from Germany  about the peculiarities of environmental control at all stages of production.

"A large-scale work on the environmental modernization of production is helding now in Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant. Plant is often visited by students of profile specialties, colleagues from other enterprises, foreign guests, as well as ordinary Krasnoyarsk residents who care about the work of plant. We provide an opportunity to see the impressive production and our achievements in improving the environmental safety of the plant", - Alexander Belyanin, director of ecology, labor protection and industrial safety at the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant noted.

A consistent reduction of the negative impact on the environment is the main purpose of RUSAL's environmental policy.

The plant sent more than 1.65 billion rubles for environmental modernization by the end of 2017. Investments amounted to more than 3 billion rubles over the past three years. The program of ecological modernization is complex, that is why it includes not only measures for technological improvement of the production process, but also planting of the territory of the plant and the city.

"Aluminum surrounds us in everyday life, it's everywhere - from smartphones to airplane cladding. Previously, I did not imagine that the production of this metal is so complex and large, and how much human labor is invested in every ingot of metal", - participant of the excursion Lennart Jens Paul Hoot told about his impressions.
