The stage of the longest cycling race in the world will pass in Krasnoyarsk.

The solemn start of one of the stages of the longest and extreme cycling race in the world "Red Bull Trans Siberian Extreme 2018" will pass in Krasnoyarsk in the central square of Tatyshev Park on August 5, 2018. Cycling race consists of 15 stages, is 9,100 kilometers and will last 25 days.

 

The start was in Moscow on July 24, 2018. The route passes through Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk and will finish in Vladivostok on August 17, 2018. Athletes will cross five climatic and eight time zones, more than 80 kilometers of risings and spend more than three weeks on the road. They will arrive in Krasnoyarsk on August 4, 2018.

Six competitors made an application for the race: Race Across America-2016 winner, RBTSE-2017 silver medalist Pierre Bischoff (Germany); bronze medalist RBTSE-2016 and 2017 Marcelo Florentino Soares (Brazil); Russian road cyclist, 2-time silver medalist of the World Championship in cycling Vladimir Gusev; participant RBTSE-2017 Mikael Knudsen (Denmark), as well as Patricio Duse (Spain) and Amit Samart (India).

The race is held since 2013. The inspirer and organizer of the cycling marathon is Paul Brook (Austria).
