Representatives of the FISU went to the Funpark for the Alpine skiing competitions, and discussed the work of the coordination center and the main functional areas involved in arranging the test event: the sports programme, food and beverages, accreditation, accommodation for athletes etc.

During their visit the FISU delegates also visited the Games venues: the new "Platinum Arena" Ice Arena, the "Crystal" Ice Arena, the "Raduga" Cluster and the Universiade Village, and had work meetings on preparation for the first official visit of representatives of the National University Sports Federations on 12-13 March.

After the test events of the Winter Universiade 2019 in Alpine Skiing there was a debriefing meeting in which the FISU experts assessed the quality of organisation of the competition and made specific recommendations for the Games preparation. Director of the Winter Universiade Milan Augustin summed up the results of the visit: "The second test event for the Winter Universiade 2019 has finished, and the work of many of the departments and functional areas of the University Games' Directorate has been tested during the test event. Thanks to the work of the coordination centre, all the services worked together seamlessly. The flower and medal ceremonies were well organised and the volunteers were welcoming. The work of the radio and television broadcasters deserves a special mention. I watched an excellent live broadcast of the event on Match TV, and I can say it was not just a local event, but a major national competition".

Roger Roth, Chair of the FISU International Technical Committee emphasised that it is important not to overlook the most important thing when organising major international events: "At the absolute centre of the events being prepared, and of the Universiade 2019 as a whole, is sport. And when testing services during preparatory competitions, the main thing is to understand what they are contributing to the preparations for the main event – Winter Universiade 2019".

Let us recall that the Alpine skiing competitions are one of the eight test events for the University Games planned for this year. The Funpark "Bobrovy Log" where the competition took place from 5 to 9 March, is an investment project of Norilsk Nickel, the General Partner of the Winter Universiade 2019.
