RUSAL's grants help to open and develop Technopark "Engineers of the Future" in a Krasnoyarsk school

The technopark was created on the basis of the Krasnoyarsk school № 149.  In it Pupils from 7 to 18 years are engaged in this technopark during the lessons and additional education activities. The school became the winner of the charitable grant competition "Territory of RUSAL" and received 2 million rubles for the implementation of its project. The main goal of the project is the development of the engineering and technical sphere of education.

There are several spacious classrooms in the technopark, where classes are held in physics, engineering, electronics, programming, as well as technical English. In addition, they are also the place for training sessions on team building. This is especially important for those students who are are on the school's team and, for example, are preparing to participate in the open international robotics championship First Russian Open, which will be held in Perm in February.

With funds received for winning the RUSAL competition held in 2017, the school equipped a classroom where electronics, physics and 3D modeling are studied. In addition, educational Lego construction kits have been purchased for training in the design and the fundamentals of mechanics, new equipment has also been purchased. The pride of the technocenter is a laser cutter, which is used to manufacture parts for robots and other inventions of schoolchildren.

"Our project "Engineers of the Future" started five years ago and we had already won one grant of the "Territory of RUSAL" competition, most of the equipment was purchased with this money. Children successfully participate in competitions in robotics, where we demonstrate our skills. The knowledge and skills obtained on the basis of the technopark will help our students enter technical universities and realize themselves in the future in the engineering profession," said at the opening ceremony Maxim Turushev, the author of the project "Engineers of the Future" and the head of the Technopark of School No. 149.

"This technopark is really important. RUSAL is now counting on the production of high-tech alloys, which are used in production of bridges, aircraft and car parts and other various useful devices. To be the first in the industry, we constantly need fresh engineering ideas. We want to create such aluminum products that will be useful in people's lives in 5, 10, 15 years. In order to maintain the leader's position, we need the best staff. And this technopark is an excellent platform for cultivating talented Krasnoyarsk engineers, engineers of the future," said Andrei Ruppel, HR Director of the Krasnoyarsk Aluminum Plant.
