New terminal of the Krasnoyarsk Airport was opened in the city

The grand opening of the new airport terminal of Krasnoyarsk (Emelyanovo) Airport took place in Krasnoyarsk. The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko, the Interim Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss, the Head of the Republic of Tuva Sholban Kara-ool, Acting First Deputy Head of the Republic of Khakassia - Prime Minister Oleg Nam, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin and the General Director of JSC "Era Group"Alexei Vasilchenko.

To the ceremony were also invited honorable citizens of Krasnoyarsk and the Krasnoyarsk Territory, aviation workers and volunteers who will help participants and spectators coming to Krasnoyarsk for the Winter Universiade 2019. About a thousand Krasnoyarsk citizens took part in the opening ceremony.

The terminal was put into operation by Alexander Neradko, Alexander Uss, Sholban Kara-ool, Oleg Nam and Alexey Vasilchenko. All of them simultaneously put their palms to a special touch panel which turned on the light sign "Krasnoyarsk Airport" on the roof of the terminal.

In his welcoming address to the participants of the opening ceremony of the new terminal, the Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko emphasized the importance of the renovated airport for the development of Siberia's economic potential: "Krasnoyarsk is in the middle of Trans-Siberian air routes. With the advent of an international airport of this level, opportunities are created to ensure that Russian and foreign airlines do not fly over Siberia, but can land, load, take on board passengers, tourists and fly to all corners of the world. I should also note that this important event, which was made possible by designers, builders, investors, took place on the eve of the upcoming 2018. I wish everyone a Happy New Year, I wish success and prosperity to Siberia!"

Interim Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory stressed that the Krasnoyarsk Airport will become the main air haven of several Siberian regions. "The airport of Krasnoyarsk today is, perhaps, the most modern airport, in terms of technical equipment, for this whole territory. This is a complex facility which was built in record time, in just one year and a half. And as you can see, its special feature is the presence of Siberian soul. One of the suggested names for this airport is "Children of one river" and it has to become an air gateway to "Yenisei Siberia" for people who live in Tyva, in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, including Taimyr and Evenkia, in Khakassia,"Alexander Uss noted.

Sergei Rodkin, the Head of the Krasnoyarsk Interregional Territorial Administration for Air Transport of the Federal Air Transport Agency, shared his opinion: "The implementation of the project to build a new airport terminal in Krasnoyarsk took several years and at each stage - with the direct participation of Sergei Vasilyevich Eremin. At that time he was the Minister of Transport of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and supervised the project. Under his leadership, there was interaction with all responsible federal and regional structures. Operational issues were solved smoothly and consistently. He invested a tremendous amount of energy in this grandiose construction. A lot of people have been waiting for the new terminal, therefore, from the whole of Rosaviation, I would like to thank Krasnoyarsk Mayor Sergei Vasilievich Eremin and everyone else who took part in the implementation of this landmark project. "

For the reference

The airport building was finished in just one year and a half. During this time, builders hammered 4178 piles into the foundation of the new structure, laid about 287 km of the power supply cable, and more than 4 thousand tons of metal were used in manufacturing of all metal structures for the frame of the building. The area of the new terminal is 58 thousand square meters, capacity - at least 2.5 million passengers per year.

At the baggage inspection points, modern introscopes are installed. Their characteristics significantly exceed the equipment used previously. The system assumes five levels of examination of luggage, which guarantees a high level of reliability. The capacity of the baggage belt will be increased. This will allow to handle more than 1.5 thousand bags during peak hours. Sorting, including transit baggage, will be carried out automatically. This will protect passengers from loss of baggage.

The designers also included in the project a convenient parking zone. Its area will be twice as large as the current one. 30 thousand square meters can accommodate 700 cars.
