Open Ceremony of XIX World Festival of Youth and Students was held in Krasnoyarsk. Representatives of  about 50 countries, including  Brazil, Poland, Switzerland, China, Australia and United States came to Krasnoyarsk in order to see Russian culture.

Acting First Deputy Governor of Krasnoyarsk region - Head of Administration of  Governor of Krasnoyarsk region Sergey Pononomarenko greeted guests of the festival.

«It is pleasant and honorable that Krasnoyarsk was chosen for holding a regional program of World Festival of Youth and Students. There are objective reasons for this, because our city develops rapidly. Infrastructure for holding Winter Universiade-2019 is building actively. I’m sure, that 100 people made a right decision to visit our city. You have to visit Siberia to understand Russia.  Coming days will be very interesting for you. I wish you a good stay in Krasnoyarsk», Sergey Pononomarenko noted.

Rich cultural, sports and scientific-educational program is prepared for guests of the festival. Guests will visit Siberian Federal University, Fun park  «Bobrovy Log»,  cultural field «Kamenka» and Krasnoyarsk schools. Guests of festival will also participate in Sports Day in the Center for Extreme Sports "Sportex" and  play   match with 2-time World mini-soccer champions among pupils of children's homes – Football Club «Totem».

World Festival of Youth and Students started with the solemn meeting of guests in Moscow on October, 14. This year the center of the World event become Sochi, where the Open Ceremony was conducted in October, 15.

After the finish of regional program in Krasnoyarsk  participants will go to Sochi on the Closing Ceremony.  About 20 thousand people take part in the scientific-educational program during the of  XIX World Festival of Youth and Students.
