On August 30 the final set of medals was contested at the Games, and the solemn Closing Ceremony took place.

The champion in the men’s water polo tournament was the last to be defined. Serbian and Russian national teams faced each other in the final match. Unfortunately, Russians failed to show appropriate resistance to the Balkan team — the Serbians won with the score 15-4.

Thus, the Russian team ranked fourth in the team scoring. Russians have 94 medals in their collection: 25 gold, 31 silver and 38 bronze. South Korea occupied the second spot, and the host team closed the top three. In the total number of awards our team loses only to the Japanese, who are atop the standings.

In the evening a spectacular Closing Ceremony of the Summer Universiade-2017 for the guests and participants of the tournament took place at the Taipei Stadium. Local music bands performed for the audience as a warm-up act before the official part of the Ceremony. Then all the competitors from 142 countries of the world took to the stadium.

The Ceremony ended with a grandiose firework.

We remind you that in 2019, for the first time in its history, Russia will host the Winter Universiade, which will be held in Krasnoyarsk from March 2 to 12. Athletes will contest for 73 sets of awards in 11 sports.
