​Russian team came to the 3rd place in the overall standing of Summer Universiade-2017

As a result of the ninth day of the competitions, the Russians won 8 medals: 3 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze.

Traditionally, the Russian team is strong in the rhythmic gymnastics competitions. The first «medal» day in this sport brought the Russians three medals: Yulia Bravikova became the winner in individual all-around, and Ekaterina Selezneva finished the competition with the second result. Also, the Russian team was able to win bronze in group all-around.

The top tier in women’s volleyball tournament was taken by the women’s national team of Russia, having prevailed over Japanese with a score of 3 to 1. Thus, another athlete representing the Krasnoyarsk region, became the champion of the Summer Universiade-2017. Natalya Malykh from VC «Yenisei» notched 10 points in the winning match. Tennis players Richard Muzaev and Aslan Karatsev also brought gold medal in the collection of our team, having beaten the British duet in doubles in the finals. Romanian Safiullin brought another medal, bronze one this time, from the tennis courts — he got on the podium in singles.

We should honor the bronze medal of the Russian women’s football team. Our girls beaten South African with a score of 5 to 0 in the match for third place.

According to the results of nine competitive days, there are 79 medals in the collection of Russians: 19 gold, 23 silver and 35 bronze. Thus, the Russian team won the third place in the overall standings ahead of the tournament hosts. Japanese are in the first place, the second position is taken by the South Korean team.
