Representatives of the Swiss company Swiss Timing, that provides the major international competitions with timing equipment, paid working visit to Krasnoyarsk. Guests attended the Winter Universiade 2019 venues and sports venues under construction, as well as held series of working meetings.
The timing is one of the required elements, contributing to the staging of high-level sports competitions. Recording of time and distance allows to control the setting of world and Olympic records, ensuring competitive activity between the athletes. Thanks to the high-technology equipment, information screens and scoreboards, the audience has possibility to observe competitions on a real-time basis.

Swiss Timing Project manager Emilia Dias, as well as the company representative in Russia Anatoliy Sherstobitov (trade-technology company “Sport Line”) met the members of the Executive Directorate of the Winter Universiade 2019 and shared experience in organization of the timing system during international sports events, including the Universiade 2017 in Almaty.

During the conference with local sports federations and sports managers the foreign specialists have considered technical matters of the timing organization during the competitions of different levels and possibility of engaging local specialists in this process.

Following the results of discussion, the participants agreed on mutual expert support during the development of timing complex on the Games’ venues, decided on improving the system of visual representation of the athletes’ data and their results in the course of competitions on the information screens and in the Internet.

 “As of today, the sports venues of Krasnoyarsk are hardly equipped with modern timing equipment. Providing that, within the Games’ heritage, we want to keep on sport development and organize massive sport events in our city, we will need not only the equipment itself, but also the preparation of specialists for its maintenance after the Games. The creation of sports infrastructure in Krasnoyarsk, which conforms with the modern international technical requirements, will allow not only to hold the Winter Universiade 2019 at a high level, but also it will give region the possibility to accept the sport competitions on a worldwide basis” - emphasized the director general of the Executive directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade 2019 Maxim Urazov.
