The results of the Youth Ice Sculpture Competition, which took place from January 13 to 19 on Mira Square with the support of the Mayor of the city, Sergei Eremin, have been announced. The jury members declared the names of the winners and prize-winners, and also announced the results of the audience voting.

Twenty artists, architects and designers took part in the competition. All of them – students and graduates of higher educational institutions and colleges of Krasnoyarsk. 8 out of 10 teams have never worked with ice before. The professional jury chose three best works.

1st place: GD team, "Ouroboros". A depiction of the mythical dragon, symbolizing eternity and infinity, the succession of life and death.

2nd place: La Vida, "Anxiety".

3rd place: Young Old Ladies, "Love and Ice".

The winners and laureates were awarded by the Head of the main department of culture Lyubov Sakharova.

— The ability to work with ice is a unique skill, so master carvers are now in great demand. Every year, the decoration of the city with ice sculptures attracts more attention. The requirements for the professionalism of execution and the aesthetic component of the work are increasing. Krasnoyarsk needs masters like this. 

Young sculptors received winner's cups, diplomas, medals and prizes from the organisers and partners of the competition. The authors of the works "The Snow Queen" and "The Firebird" were awarded letters of thanks. The Audience Choice Award went to the Siberian Greenhouse team, which created the Snow Queen sculpture.

The Youth Ice Sculpture Competition was held as part of the XVI Winter Surikov Art Festival.
