On October 1, UNESCO's official International Music Day, the II International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition will have its grand closing ceremony in the big concert hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic. The names of the laureates and special prizes winners will be announced during the event.

This year's prize pool amounted to: $20,000 for grand prix, $15,000 for 1st place, $10,000 for 2nd place, $7,000 for 3rd place, $4,000 for 4th place and $2,000 for 5th place. In addition to this, the laureates of the competition will receive special prizes from the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Region – a total of 500,000 rubles, the award of the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk City – 200,000 rubles. Yuri Bashmet, Valery Gergiev, Pavel Kogan, Sergei Krylov, Vladimir Lande, Vadim Repin, Vladimir Spivakov established their own prizes as well. Another special award for the winners is the opportunity to perform concerts with leading orchestras from Russia and abroad.

Some awards have already found their owners. According to the results of the third round of the II International Viktor Tretyakov Violin Competition, the author's master violin by Igor Laubach – a replica of an ancient instrument of the famous Italian violin master Antonio Stradivari – went to the Russian violinist Pyotr Fedotov. Sergei Krylov's prizes were awarded to Maria Duenas (Spain / Austria) for the Best Performance of a Caprice by Paganini category and Mikhail Usov (Russia) for the Best Performance of a Piece by Alexander Rosenblatt.

At the closing ceremony, residents of Krasnoyarsk will not only witness the winners' best performances, but also listen to the best young violinists from different countries, who in the near future will shine on the stages of the most prestigious concert halls in the world.​
