​The trophy arrived in Russia, covering a total distance of 2,800 kilometers. At the headquarters of the International Volleyball Federation in Lausanne, the president Ari Graça handed it over to the 2012 London Summer Olympics champion Sergei Tetyukhin.

The main trophy of the World Championships ​has already visited iconic places in Moscow. Now it is about to travel across the country to Krasnoyarsk.

– The trophy tour will take you through the host cities, as well as the regions that have a long history of volleyball. There will also be legend matches, in which world volleyball stars and local recognizable volleyball players will meet. Within 3 months, the Cup will travel around the country, – says Roman Stanislavov, General Director of the Volleyball Organizing Committee-2022.

​​​Meanwhile, Mayor Sergei Eremin took part in the ceremony of starting the countdown clock to the start of the World Championship, the matches of which will be taking place in Krasnoyarsk as well as 9 other cities of Russia. 

​— Right now, launching the countdown, I unconsciously remembered our Universiade-2019, those ten unforgettable days that became one of the brightest pages in the modern history of the city. And I am glad that we're still to this day continue creating the sports chronicle of Krasnoyarsk. The Volleyball World Championships​ is a landmark event for the whole country, and I am sure that thanks to the experience of organizing such events, which we already have, athletes and guests alike will take away the kindest memories and emotions from our city. ​​
