​Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin decided to personally sign and send postcards with New Year's greetings to his colleagues from all over the world.

– These postcards with a photograph depicting the city's winter beauty will be received by our sister cities (16 cities from 10 countries), as well as the cities-organizers of the winter Universiades. New Year's greetings from Krasnoyarsk also went to the mayors of many famous foreign cities: London, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Cambridge, Quebec, Bristol, Prague – we might be separated by thousands of kilometers, but there is something that unites us. 'Sometimes friendship can start with a small postcard signed and sent with the warmth of your heart', – shared Sergei Eremin on his Instagram page.

He admitted that he dreams that Krasnoyarsk will overcome the mentality of a distant Siberian city - "we cannot just give up our grand-scale ambitions". According to the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk, our city – the centre of Eurasia, the soul and energy of Siberia – deserves it's fifteen minutes of fame.
