From October 23 to 25, Krasnoyarsk Film House will be hosting Japanese Film Festival.

In 2020 it is to be held as part of the Year of Japanese-Russian Interregional Exchanges.

The festival programme offers some of the latest premieres in Japanese cinema that delve into traditions of the Land of the Rising Sun and their persistence in the modern world.

The festival's grand opening is to take place on October 23. The first movie to be screened will be the «Every Day a Good Day». This melodrama will tell us a story about the life of a university student Noriko. By her mother's recommendation she begins attending Japanese tea ceremony classes. The audience will have the opportunity to familiarize with the tradition of Japanese tea ceremony and understand how this kind of traditional art can be involved in a modern person's  life, transforming everything around it.

On October 24, «Dad's Lunch Box» film is set to be shown. The plot is based on a true story of a father who makes lunch boxes for his high schooler daughter every day.

7.jpgpapa obento.jpgOn October 25, the audience will be offered to watch the animated dance film «Pop in Q». It is a story about girls saving the world (and who would've think?). But before that, they ought to deal with their seemingly not the most difficult, but, in fact, exceedingly difficult every day tasks, and finally become a true team. The cartoon's main theme is friendship and how more often than not, dealing with a mutual task requires working on oneself first.

Before the showings, some cultural events will be offered for the audience. For example, the guests will get to know some specificities of hosting a tea ceremony in Japan, enjoy the aesthetics of «bento» (lunch boxes) and witness kendo duel performed by professional martial artists in real life.
