​Educational project by Reshetnev Siberian State University’s scientists became one of the winners of the competition ‘Russia and Germany: Scientific and Educational Bridges’. The award ceremony took place on September 15 at the Brandenburg Academy of Sciences in Berlin and the National Research Technological University MISiS in Moscow.

A team from the Siberian Institute for Applied Systems Analysis was among the chosen 25 out of 125 applications submitted for the competition. The project was titled «Youth, Science, Artificial Intelligence: Ulm-Krasnoyarsk, 30 Years Together». Talking about the long-term partnership of SibSU and the German University of Ulm, it’s goal is all-round support of young scientists through a system of exchanges, internships and bilateral scientific leadership.

The project is aimed at solving problems of the integrated development of a ubiquitous affective AI direction, as well as highly effective training of young professionals able to optimally solve problems in the field of artificial intelligence now and in the future.

Among the results of a 30-year partnership with the Ulm University, Krasnoyarsk scientists name:

  • 75 internships supported by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and German industrial partners, grants from the President of the Russian Federation, RFBR and other foundations;
  • 10 master's theses and 7 Dr.-Ing theses defended by students of Reshetnev  SibSu in Ulm. In Krasnoyarsk, 3 doctoral and 43 candidate dissertations were defended (22 of them at the age of 23-25);
  • 16 graduates of Reshetnev University work in Europe, 11 of them in Germany. The rest are in Russia;
  • the annual international scientific conference IWMMA, the presented works of which are published in scientific journals in Europe; 
  • creation of the Siberian Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, which includes 8 laboratories, while the employees are former, current and future participants in the partnership.
