25 violinists from 10 countries became winners of the preselection round of the second Viktor Tretyakov International Violin Competition.

The prize for the winners of the preselection round is the coverage of airplane and railway tickets to Krasnoyarsk and back. Finalists of the competition will compete for the prizes valued from 2,000 to 20,000 USD, and special prizes:

- the violin made by the German violin-maker Igor Laubach
- the Prize of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Alexander Uss – 500,000 rubles
- the Prize of the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Eremin​ – 200,000 rubles
- concerts of the laureates of the competition with the leading orchestras of Russia.


Considering the measures taken against the spread of COVID-19 and the uncertain situation with the resumption of international flights, People's Artist of the USSR Viktor Tretyakov, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk region have made a joint decision to postpone the competition and hold it from September 20 to October 1, 2021.
