A newly established cafe for ground squirrels SuslikPub celebrated its grand opening on the western part of Tatyshev Island. The cafe was ‘installed’ in the same field where dozens of rodent families live.

In a two-story house, the susliks will be able to freely roam and take treats from what people visiting the island give them. On the roof of the house are suggestions of what can and cannot be given to rodents.

The employees of the Centre for Technical Design were the ones to construct SuslikPub on the island. They made up the idea of a two-story house and assembled the cafe themselves. If both squirrels and townspeople like the one-of-a-kind feeders, then there may be more such cafes in the future, according to the employees.
