​This year's Krasnoyarsk City Day sure is unusual: all the events are organised to take place online. Various flashmob events, concerts, contests, virtual tours and challenges – a diverse entertainment programme was prepared for the city residents.​

On the eve of the 392th anniversary, Krasnoyarsk decided to challenge the whole world for a dance! The music video of the dance challenge «Uniting Spaces» was published on Mayor Sergei Eremin’s personal Instagram page.

The main idea of the challenge is how people unite real and virtual spaces. Despite the kilometers separating cities and countries, we can still communicate and make friends. Young people who love the place where they live, take pride in their small homeland and present their cities through the rhythms of dance, are encouraged to join the dance challenge.

Today, on June 19, the main city clock Big Ben is streaming the anthem of Krasnoyarsk at 9.00, 12.00, 15.00, 18.00 and 21.00. And at 22.15 the Communal Bridge will light up in the celebratory colours, followed by turned on city illumination and the KrasKom river fountain.

At 12.00, the celebratory concert of two creative groups beloved by city residents will be broadcast on the official VK page of the Krasnoyarsk City Administration: the Krasnoyarsk brass band and the choir ensemble of soloists To Thee We Sing. You can also watch the concert on local television channels: the Yenisei Channel at 19.00, the 7th channel at 20.00, Prima at 20.25, and TVK at 21.00.

One will be able to listen to music even on the streets: cars with Krasnoyarsk districts anthems and songs about Krasnoyarsk blasting will be driving around the city. The Krasnoyarsk Sings to Krasnoyarsk flash mob is organized in social networks: the city residents can record videos performing songs about their hometown and post them with hashtags #ПесниКрасноярска, #СДнемРожденияКрасноярск, #Деньгорода, #ДеньГородаОнлайн, #Красноярску392. More than 160 Krasnoyarsk residents took part in the sing-together event performing the city anthem.

Residents and guests of the capital of the region will have the opportunity to take virtual walks in Krasnoyarsk. Guides of the local Travellers Centre will be talking about the sights of the city using iconic, recognizable and beloved places in Krasnoyarsk. The streams go online June 16 to 19 at 13.00 on the Travellers Centre VK page.

Employees of the Victory Memorial Historical Museum are presenting a virtual The City is the Museum tour on their website and their VK page.

Several intellectual games are organised via online platforms. The video quiz Our Theatre City was prepared by Nash Teatr, the #CityQuest quiz was organised by the Prevoye Maya House of Culture, while Roev Ruchey park prepared the City in Nature quest. And the Youth IT Centre is to conduct an online quest on popular and historic places of Krasnoyarsk.

Musical and dance surprises were prepared for the city and townspeople by the Krasnoyarsk Chamber Orchestra, the Prestige Youth Theatre modern dance ensemble, the Kirovsky City Palace of Culture and other groups and organisations.

Another gift will be video cards with congratulations from former Krasnoyarsk residents, as well as the city's dearest friends from sister cities and countries. Already more than 30 countries of the world have joined the congratulatory event. The video greetings have already been published on the official VK page of the administration.

A presentation video about Krasnoyarsk public spaces was created specially for the city’s birthday. In it, the city is shown through people, their interests and hobbies. The video will be sent as a return gift to the cities and partner countries that sent their video cards with congratulations.

Public organisations of the city have also prepared their congratulations and gifts: a flash mob History of my street and an online souvenir shop by children from the integration workshops Trudovo, as well as a video greeting from the Happy Children fund.

By tradition, separate celebratory programmes for City Day were prepared in the districts. Leninsky district came up with the «Good deeds to the beloved city!» event, the participants of which record videos about the good deeds done for the district and the city and post them on social networks. The photo contest «My Favorite Holiday Place in the District» was organised in Oktyabrsky district, and the virtual exhibition «#OURZD – the district of the big CITY» was organised in Zheleznodorozhny district. Kirovsky district has decided on an online festival of children and youth creativity «Krasnoyarsk is the Heart of Russia!», and Sverdlovsk district prepared an online quiz «The City I Live In».
