​The Art, Science and Sports contest was held by Alisher Usmanov's fund as part of the Special Vision programme aimed at people with visual impairment.

Together with our colleagues from the Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia (Petrozavodsk), the Erzi Museum (Saransk), the Far Eastern Art Museum (Khabarovsk) and the Trans-Baikal Museum of Local Lore (Chita), our museum will be provided with tactile copies of museum exhibits, – the Museum representatives shared.

Tactile copies will be representative of the main Museum exhibition’s:

  • «In a tepee» painting by Andrey Lekarenko
  • «The Good Samaritan» painting by Alexander Popov (copy of Vasily Surikov’s painting)
  • Project of the Museum’s main facade by Leonid Chernyshev 
  • «Transfiguration of Jesus» icon
  • Fragment of the Great Boyar pisanitsa

The Special Vision programme supports the development of innovative technologies in the field of diagnosis, treatment of eye diseases and socialisation of visually impaired people, participates in the creation of stage plays, excursions, audio books and master classes for blind people and devotes a great deal of attention to the promotion of audio description in Russia.
