EAZA has over 400 members–zoos and aquariums around the world. The organisation made a decision on honouring Roev Ruchey with the status of the Candidate for Membership in April this year. «Zoos aren’t only about animals, but about its people as well. The most important thing that I discovered when I visited the zoo in Krasnoyarsk was its great work team. I have met many enthusiasts here who are proud of their work and contribute to the conservation of rare species. Roev Ruchey has every bit of potential for future development. This is a wonderful zoo, where people seek to improve the living conditions for animals. The Association, in turn, can help achieve these goals,» — said Gary Batters, Acting Managing Director of the Zoological Society of East Anglia, UK.
