The theatre night held on March 14 in the Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre will be titled «Beyond the Square».

Krasnoyarsk residents will be offered to «spend the night» in a nonexistent theatre: it is closed. Guests of the closed establishment will see and hear how new musical material is created firsthand.

Only echoes of the classical opera pieces are to be heard at the event – after all, in the closed theatre, there only remain the spirits of those who inhabited it before: artists and musicians, employees of various technical services of the theatre and even spectators. The main basis is contemporary music, arising from the most unexpected sounds, for example, hammers knocking, doors creaking and workers shouting. All this will give birth to a new opera, witnesses of which will be those brave visitors of the night.

«We will try to show what lies beyond art, the birth of modern musical material. To do so, we will turn the theatre into a closed museum or even a castle with its own fascinating history, inhabited by ghosts. The guests, in fact, will not see the opera itself, but quotes from theatrical life behind closed doors. And in the finale, covered with white cloth, the lifeless theater hall will be transformed: with one magical movement, the covers will disappear from the seats, and the space will be filled with life. A bright final point will be the performance of the famous pieces of the world classical opera under the beatbox. This way, the classics will meet modern times, the masterpieces of the past with the art of the present,» – explained Elizaveta Korneeva, the director of the night at the Opera.
